Episode 1 : Choose a character
As she finished packing the cooler she picked up the cooler and headed for the front door. She faded back into memories, excited about their trip. She saw Howard organizing the suitcases as she walked toward the car. As she was thinking of seagulls and starfish she hadn't realized her foot was about to snag a crack in the walkway. She heard the loud crash of the cooler slam to the ground as she fell, followed by Howard yelling "Watch it!" The cooler had spilled the majority of its contents across the driveway, a jar of pickles hitting Howard’s ankle. She landed on her side in the grass, getting a little dirt on her hands. She looked up at Howard with innocent eyes and said "Whoops?"
"Yikes!" Howard replied, "Are you Ok?"
Quoting a line from one of her favorite movies, 5th Element, she responded "Boom, Big Bada Boom," followed by a giggle.
Rubbing his ankle Howard said "Well there is no use crying over spilled milk. Why don’t you let me handle this. Do you mind getting the kids?"
Laughing she said, "Ah don’t be a baby, you got another one."
"Exactly," He replied with a chuckle, "I don’t want you to bust that one too."
Walking back into the house she called for the kids and grabbed their coats. Handing them their coats Jeremy begged "Mom, do I have to wear this coat?"
"You love this coat, Dad got it for you." She said consoling him.
"I know, its just ... I think I am too old to wear it." he said scratching at the cartoon characters stitched in the cloth.
"Ah, I see ... I tell you what. Why don’t you and I pick out a new one from one of the souvenir shops when we get to the beach house." she said handing him the jacket.
He nodded his head as if contemplating what type of jacket he was going to pick.

Locking the door they all piled into the car and headed off to the station. The kids were watching a DVD with their headphones on. Looking back Nancy liked having such a nice car. Their previous car was barely able to get from one point to another, let alone keep the children quite. She felt safer in this car; in fact they purchased it because of its high safety rating. The SUV glided down the drive way, the family inside was excited and happy to be going on their trip. As they drove down the road none of them knew their actual destination.
